Dr. Hermann Thouet
Dr. Thouet is a board- certified general surgeon and trauma surgeon and received his medical degree and training in Germany at University of Düsseldorf and University of Moenchengladbach. He came to Bermuda first in 1998. After working intermittently on the island, he permanently started practicing in Bermuda in 2004. He provides a broad range of services, such as screening and emergency endoscopies and colonoscopies, general surgery which includes: laparoscopic and open hernia repair; laparoscopic and open colon surgery for colon cancer and diverticulitis; proctology; breast cancer care; treatment of emergencies in vascular and neurosurgery; trauma treatment; wound care including diabetic foot care; and the surgical removal of skin lesions including moles and skin cancers.
Dr. Boris Vestweber
Dr. Vestweber is a board-certified general , visceral, and bariatric surgeon. He received his education at University of Bonn, University of Marburg, and University of Berlin. He practiced in Germany for over 10 years. He was one of the first developers of single incision laparoscopic colo-rectal surgery in Europe and carries a wealth of knowledge with implementing new advancements in minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques. He first came to Bermuda in 2003 to do locum work and decided to practice in Bermuda permanently in 2012. He provides general surgery services in laparoscopic and open procedures of the digestive tract, paediatric surgery, endoscopic screening, dialysis catheter insertions, hernia repairs, biopsies, excisions of skin growths, and gall bladder surgery to name a few.
Mary Swan
Ms Swan is a registered nurse who has been part of our team for over 15 years. She has a vast knowledge base and experience with surgical screening, evaluation, and recovery care. She ensures that our patient experience with us goes smoothly and that our patients have all the information they need to make informed decisions with their care. She plays a vital role in preparing our patients for surgery and the follow up care they receive.
Richante Burt
Ms Burt is a medical receptionist who has years of experience in her field. Her friendly smile will be the first to greet you upon entering our practice. Ms Burt’s organizational skills and professionalism helps stream-line our day-to-day functioning. She plays an important role in coordinating appointments and managing our schedule. She is always happy to assist in answering any questions you may have.
